Cookie Policy

What we store on your device, why, and how you stay in control.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. This page uses “cookies” to mean all of them.

Find Your Table is operated by XPIT L.L.C, who decides what is stored and why.

Strictly necessary

These make the site work. They cannot be switched off, and we do not ask permission for them because the service cannot be delivered without them.

  • Sign-in session. Keeps you signed in to your host dashboard and protects your account.
  • Language. Remembers whether you chose English, French or German so you are not moved back to the wrong language on your next visit.
  • Your cookie choice. A cookie named fyt_consent that records only whether you accepted analytics and advertising — nothing else. No identifier, no advertising click reference, no personal details, nothing about what you looked at. We need it because the choice you make in your browser also has to apply on our servers, which cannot see your browser's own storage.
  • Security. Helps us detect abuse and keep sign-in safe.

Analytics

These help us understand which pages are used so we can improve the product. They never include guest names, table assignments, search terms, event names or photos.

In France and Germany they are OFF until you accept them. In the United States they are on by default and you can opt out at any time. This applies to what we record on our own servers as well as in your browser.

This choice covers what we measure about browsing. It does not change the records we keep about an order you actually place: when a purchase completes we record the plan, the amount and the currency as part of the contract between us and our accounting obligations. That is an order record, not an analytics cookie, and it does not depend on your cookie choices.

Advertising

These let us measure how well our advertising works and show relevant ads. They never include guest or seating data.

In France and Germany they are OFF until you accept them.

Measuring where visitors come from

We keep one small record of how a visitor first reached us, in a first-party cookie named fyt_attribution. We set it ourselves — it does not belong to an advertising network — and no script running in your browser can read it (it is httpOnly). It is kept for up to 90 days and is written only once: a later visit never overwrites it, so it always describes the FIRST time you arrived.

WHEN it is written depends on where you are. In the United States, where advertising measurement is on by default, we write it on your first visit and you can opt out at any time. In France and Germany we write nothing to your device before you have made an affirmative choice: on a first visit the campaign details from the link you followed stay only in the memory of the browser tab you have open, and they are written to this cookie only if you then accept. If you refuse, or simply never answer, nothing is stored on your device and those details are gone when you close the tab.

We use it to understand which campaign or channel introduced us to a new host, so we can tell what our advertising actually achieves. It never contains guest names, table assignments, event names, your email address, or anything you type into the product, and it is not set on the public guest page your guests scan into.

It is not a Meta cookie. In the United States advertising measurement is on by default and you can opt out at any time, so until you opt out, what it holds may be used to measure our advertising, including with Meta. In France and Germany nothing it holds is sent to Meta or any other advertising network unless you have accepted advertising cookies. Once you opt out, refuse, or later withdraw that consent, it is not used for advertising measurement.

If you withdraw advertising but keep analytics, we remove the advertising click reference (fbclid) from this record and keep the rest, with its original first-visit date and without adding any time to how long it is kept. If you withdraw everything, we delete it.

  • Campaign parameters from the link you arrived on (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term), plus our own short campaign code.
  • A Meta click identifier (fbclid) if the link you followed carried one.
  • The address of the site that linked you to us, without its query string.
  • The page on our site you landed on first.
  • A country code and a coarse device category (mobile, tablet or desktop) derived from your request.
  • The date and time of that first visit.

The public guest page

We run no cookies of any non-essential kind on the public guest page your guests scan into — no analytics, no advertising, and no session recording. None of those tools loads there at all. We do count a couple of coarse milestones for the event itself — that the page was opened, that a search found a table — but they are recorded on our own servers, attached to the event rather than to the guest, and shown only to the host; never the name searched or the table shown.

Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy controls in the footer of any marketing page. Analytics and advertising are separate controls, so you can change one without changing the other. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent, and the rest of the service keeps working exactly as before.
